More fun with SolidWorks.
I was wondering how the set might look if it had a battery box similar to what you see on the Grebe Synchrophase but with a sort of Folk Art flavor.
The only technical problem here I see is the fact that the original circuit has a Shickerilng "power tube" S-700 (a pretty scarce tube). To get the maximum bang for the buck, it should have three 45 Volt 'B' batteries to make it go... And Eveready recommended the #486 'B' battery "for use on all loud speaker receiving sets" While three of these and a 'C' battery would fit, there would be no room for the 'A' batteries...
I think the battery box would only make sense if the set had UX-199's and a UX-120 power tube. Then the smaller Eveready 772 'B' battery would leave room for #6 dry cells to power the filaments.
Guess I'll have to find some other way to find a reason to try my hand at a little marquetry/parquetry.
